Transformation! Nolato Supplier of Customized Medical Devices

Europe, UK, Ireland, England, Health, Pharmaceuticals, Active, Smart Packaging, Sustainable Packaging

Transformation into a supplier of customized medical devices. Nolato Jaycare has created a competitive plant for world-class production of medical devices. Just over ten years ago, when Nolato acquired the UK firm Cope Allman Jaycare and renamed it Nolato Jaycare, it was largely a specialist manufacturer of standard pharmaceutical packaging.

The company has since been actively developed and has now been transformed into a supplier of customized solutions for both pharmaceutical and medtech customers. Nolato Jaycare’s operations are now based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the northeast of England, having previously also included a unit in Portsmouth in the south of England.

END-TO-END SOLUTIONS
Our aim today is to offer our customers comprehensive solutions, from the initial development phase right up to high-volume production of complete, assembled, and packaged products,” explains Matthew Cooper, Sales Director.

“We have further enhanced our in-house expertise, while harnessing the wide-ranging knowledge and experience that exists in this area throughout Nolato. We now have several new cleanrooms in Newcastle, with a total area of 1,800 square meters. We’ve gradually created a competitive plant for world-class production of medical devices, and strengthened our resources in key areas such as project management, design, sustainable production and a lean approach,” notes Matthew Cooper.

Cerbo Classic Mass Balance: Design for Environment

Early involvement in the design process allows for sustainability ideas to be evaluated. One of the cornerstones of a circular economy is designing with the ability to recycle a product and optimize the circulation of material for reuse. Today it is also possible to reduce the CO2 emission on existing product ranges, for instance, with the use of BIO-material or mass-balanced solutions. By using the mass balance model, the same quality standards are met, and it contributes to the environment.

Cope Allman Jaycare develops process for printing Braille directly onto plastic containers

Cope Allman Jaycare has developed a process that allows a lay down of up to a 0.5mm thickness of UV cured ink directly onto the surface of a plastic container. In-house screen printing facilities were adapted to maintain an even and consistent print height. Although originally developed for printing Braille onto containers, the process also can be used in traditional screen printing, allowing clients the opportunity to highlight particular parts of their artwork (i.e. logos, etc.) by raising the print from the surface of the container.
